CNN had taken a direct hit from the tornado and the cascading waterfalls coming down through the Atrium roof was causing significant damage.
Due to their long standing relationship with Turner Properties, Roof Solutions Commercial Roof Repair 24-hour emergency number was called at 11:00 PM and they had roofers arriving before midnight. In addition, as a result of our relationship with our local supplier, Heely Brown, CNN received its first truckload of material by 5:00 AM Saturday morning. By 11:00 AM Saturday morning 20 roofers were in place and by Sunday morning, 40 more roofers were working nonstop to get CNN “In the Dry”. The act of getting the damage off the building so the process of re-roofing could begin was a safety and logistical nightmare. A crane was mounted on the roof so debris could be removed and materials could be loaded without shutting down Marietta Street, one of the busier streets in downtown Atlanta.
CNN had their New York studios on standby for the first few days following the storm in the event the storm had interrupted their broadcasting abilities.
